Daphne woo

Daphne Woo, 胡 可 欣, is a “Vancouver”- born artist of Chinese ancestry, existing on the traditional, ancestral, and stolen territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking peoples. Her practice weaves textiles, teaching, and community care, shaped by lived experience and reflections on migration, identity, and belonging.

Since 2016, she has focused on reviving her business, Amacata Design Concepts, centering art, education, and reconnection with land. Working with natural materials and dye processes, her studio supports a community-rooted and evolving practice.

Her work integrates art-making, (un)learning, ancestry reclamation, and holding space, informed by studies in Community Capacity Building, Biomedical Visualization & Communication, and Grief & Loss Coaching.
